I started German last week at a local community college. I decided it would be a good idea to get the ball rolling in that direction for PhD purposes. I just hope I can keep Greek, Hebrew and Engish straight now, and my full-time schedule at Covenant.

I think community college is a good way to go. I have my German exam in two weeks! Should be cake but fingers crossed. It allows me two hours, dictionary in hand, to translate a 300 word excerpt into "clear and idiomatic English." How did Dane's immersion program go?
Dane said that he didn't really learn much because they spoke a different dialect than what he needed. But knowing Dane, I suspect he was being modest.
